Somos uma pequena
comunidade católica, composta de brasileiros ou de estrangeiros casados com
brasileiros; e também de pessoas com laços afetivos e culturais com o Brasil.
Na maioria, residimos em Northern Virginia. Nossa Comunidade tem o reconhecimento
da Diocese de Arlington, a qual nos dá aval eclesiástico para celebrar a Missa
em Português pelo menos uma vez ao mês. Nossas Missas são na Capela de
Missionhurst, com endereço #4651 25th
Street, Arlington, VA 22207. Anualmente,
no dia 12 de outubro, ou em feriado mais próximo desta data, promovemos
a Festa de Nossa Senhora da Conceição Aparecida, a padroeira do Brasil. Nossa
missão é agregar e integrar católicos brasileiros ou católicos de língua
portuguesa na Diocese de Arlington. Os nossos veículos de ação pastoral e
comunitária são a Santa Missa em Português e os Sacramentos da Igreja.
We are a small catholic community formed by Brazilians
or members in a family with Brazilians; we all have strong bonds with the
Brazilian society and cultures. Most of us reside in Northern Virginia. Our
community meet at least once a month to celebrate the Mass in Portuguese,
promoted by the Diocese of Arlington, in the Missionhurst Chapel, located at #4651
25th Street, Arlington, Va 22207. Every year, on October 12th,
we congregate in number of hundreds to celebrate Our Lady of Aparecida Day, the
main Brazilian devotion to Our Lady, the mother of Jesus. Our mission is to
integrate Brazilian Catholics or Catholics that speak Portuguese in the Diocese
of Arlington, Virginia. Our main actions are through the celebration of the
Mass in Portuguese and through supporting the community to benefit from the sacraments
of the Holly Catholic Church.
